What we are about
St Mary Anglican Mission is a new and exciting family-sized congregation. Our heart is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and all of his people. We offer friendship, praise-filled traditional Anglican worship, small group Bible studies along with fellowship and numerous growth opportunities and Gospel outreach into our community. Our Mission is: "Sharing the Transforming Love of Jesus Christ"
The Anglican Church came to the American shores with the early explorers, settlers, and colonists. With increasing numbers of English immigrants, the Church of England established itself in more places and with greater numbers continuously. The tie was broken with the Church of England during the War for Independence, but the Episcopal Church resulted and formed in the late 1700’s, alongside the Federal government, and along similar lines. In 2008, the Diocese of Quincy, of which we are a parish, broke from the Episcopal Church and eventually affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America.
Our services are made up of lessons from the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Gospels as well as a sermon, usually based on the Gospel for that Sunday. We next acclaim our faith and pray for all peoples. After passing the Peace, we celebrate Holy Eucharist.
